User Reviews

Dangerous Fellows delivers a strong story, characters, and art with a fun mystery vibe, but its experience is repeatedly marred by aggressive monetization (gems/rubies), intrusive ads, pricey cosmetics, and translation issues. The romance feels limited due to a mostly linear route and required purchases for endings, which makes it hard for free-to-play players to progress. For fans who are willing to pay, the game can be enjoyable; otherwise the monetization significantly constrains the experience.
Pros
  • The story, characters, and art are great and engaging.
  • The game is fun and entertaining to play.
  • The horror/mystery atmosphere adds depth to the plot.
  • Beautiful art style and music enhance the otome experience.
Cons
  • Heavy monetization with gems/rubies gating progress and endgame (pay-to-win).
  • Frequent ads disrupt gameplay and push for purchases.
  • Cosmetics and outfits are pricey and gating progression.
  • Translation/grammar issues in DMs and dialogue.
  • Romance feels limited with a single route and heavy requirements to unlock endings.

The story, characters, and art all great and super interesting, but so much of the game is inaccessible if you do not have gems. You can either pay for gems or watch a bunch of ads for them, and the latter option basically just gives you pennys. I wouldn’t mind just paying for the game to avoid all of that in a one and done purchase, but instead this game is geared towards a bunch of microtransactions. If you’ve got the spare change, go ahead and play, otherwise, don’t waste your time on trying to get free gems because you barely get any.

So far, I really like the game. Just something that bothers me is the DMs have some weird English l grammar. Knowing this game is originally in Korean, I can kind of understand, but the dms just look like it was translated literally from korean to english. I find the gem systems a little bit much. I think the dialogue options that cost gems are too much, considering how little the game actually gives.
