Co-operative Bank

The co-operative Bank app suits my needs. Compared to other banking apps I think some would say it looks ‘old fashioned’. Like most apps, there’s something of a learning curve for certain functions, like deleting a direct debit, especially if you’ve come from another banking app. But please don’t make drastic changes, I’m sure something will ‘break’. Things I love, having spent seven years in California and using the US App Store, I wasn’t told the app ‘isn’t available in your country’. Not directly app related, but when I started using Nat West, pretty much every transaction required me to confirm using the app. This was a real pain, as it’s on one device that rarely leaves the house. Want to buy something online at lunchtime? No, you can’t. Some may say ‘install the app on your phone’ but I’m not doing that and I expect my bank to be flexible enough to offer alternatives. I ‘deregistered’ for the Nat West app, and now it sends me texts, it their customer support said, if I have the app, that’s the only authentication option, for ‘security’. I don’t have this problem with the Co-operative. Oh and don’t get me started on Nat West’s terrible chatbot. So yes, there may be better apps, and banks, but the Co-op suits me just fine.

Working long-term in the United States I find it extremely difficult to login first time, often takes numerous attempts. I have to leave it and try later not happy. Have deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times . Makes no difference.
