User Reviews

Reviews show a split: updates have improved UI usability, but core functionality is unreliable. Recurrent issues include login failures, missing Daily Pass, and inability to access grades or attendance in-app, with crashes and blank screens common. Many users resort to browsers or alternative platforms. The app’s potential as a direct teacher communication channel is acknowledged by some, but overall reliability remains a major concern.
Pros
  • Updated version improves UI and usability (multiple reviews mention a cleaner UI and easier navigation).
  • The updated app is seen as more useful by some users (positive reception to changes).
  • Some reviews describe the app as a direct connection to teachers for important communication.
Cons
  • Frequent login failures or errors prevent access to the app (including blank screens and not being able to log in).
  • Daily Pass feature has been removed or is absent in the latest version, forcing users to use the website or other apps.
  • Inability to view report cards or student grades and progress through the app.
  • The app often freezes, crashes, or shows a white screen on launch, reducing reliability.
  • Reliance on browsers/Schoology due to app instability and inconsistent performance.

It’s actually working

Basic functionality like viewing the report card for my child doesn’t work. This team needs to do better. I had to go on a desktop browser to see the report card. Mobile browser did not work either.

During and after quarantine, the app was working fine. It was used mainly for checking in and out to make sure there is negative virus. Also to upload results. Occasionally, I will use it to see child’s progress and school status. Now these days the app is not working. It will not login. It gives error message. So I used a different type of parent name and a different email.. It is still not working to the point where there is a blank screen when you open the app. It no longer show any login fields. It has not been working for over a year. I like to say. So if I need to see any grades events or anything I get it through the child’s student email or go to Schoology. But this is no good because there are certain things you can’t do there as a parent that you must do on a parent portal. LAUSD has so much money for non-school needs but don’t support the parents who pay the city, county, and state taxes.
