User Reviews

The Motionblinds Bridge app shows potential with a feature-rich interface, Alexa integration, and solid hardware, but reliability is a major problem. Repeated pairing failures, long setup times, and frequent disconnections dominate the experience. Wi-Fi discovery and network selection often fail, and newer iOS versions report compatibility issues. Support appears weak, with broken feedback channels and password reset frustration. Updates can wipe configurations and maintenance seems stagnant. Overall, strong concepts and hardware are undermined by stability and support deficiencies.
Pros
  • When paired, the app provides full blinds control (top/bottom height, scenes).
  • Alexa voice integration works with the bridge.
  • The UI is slick and feature-rich when connected.
  • Bridge hardware quality is solid.
Cons
  • Unreliable and time-consuming pairing with the bridge; users report needing repeated attempts and long configuration times.
  • Wi-Fi setup is broken; the app fails to recognize networks or allows manual SSID entry in many cases.
  • Compatibility issues on newer iOS devices (e.g., iOS 18) requiring older devices for operation.
  • Support and account features are weak, with broken feedback forms and password reset problems.
  • Updates have wiped configurations and maintenance appears stagnant.

Nothing works. Nothing saves. Errors. Bad UI.

Whomever programmed this app is truly ignorant. That person forgot to account for daylight savings, not the app doesn’t work. Bravo.

Impossible to connect if your device is running iOS 18. Thankfully I was able to dig up an old phone running iOS 14 and the bridge connected immediately. I don’t know the minimum iOS version you’d need to connect, but that’s what worked for me. The app itself is great beyond the headache of pairing the bridge. I am able to use everything on the phone running iOS 18, and was easily able to set top/bottom heights for my blinds, set up scenes, and control blind height.
