User Reviews

User reviews are largely negative due to perceived non-random dice and biased outcomes, with many alleging the algorithm favors the computer. Ad overload is a major complaint, including intrusive ads, ads that block gameplay, and a lack of an easy way to remove them. Performance issues like freezing and content hijacking compound frustration. A minority appreciate the app for learning backgammon and for online play with rankings, but the overall sentiment centers on fairness and ads rather than gameplay quality.
Pros
  • Helpful for learning/backgammon basics.
  • Supports online/live play with visible players and ranking data.
  • Casual, easy-to-pick-up gameplay.
Cons
  • Intrusive ads between games; ads are hard to close and many users want an ad-free option.
  • Dice rolls appear non-random/ridigged, with claims that the algorithm favors the computer.
  • Frequent performance issues such as freezing or crashes during play.
  • Ads can hijack or block gameplay (e.g., background videos or content not accessible).
  • Difficulty or impossibility of removing ads; no clear paid ad-free option.
Recent reviews
While backgammon can be an exceptionally fun and thrilling game to play due to the luck involved with the roll of the dice, there is no roll in this game. A number is somehow generated and that is what you are given. Through extensive playing I have found that the nearly impossible probabilities of numbers that could occur do occur not rarely but often in the numbers generated game. So if you want to be on the wrong side of 7+ doubles being rolled in a row or the opponent getting off the bar 5 consecutive times in one roll with only one spot open while it takes you 6 rolls to get out when there are 3 open spaces, this games for you.

I’ve had this game for several years and it used to be good. Recently, however, the advertising between games has gotten out of hand. Often they won’t even go away so I have to close the app and reopen it. I promise you this, I will never buy another game from this company ever again.
