User Reviews

Reviewers consistently praise Enduring Word as a deep, context-rich Bible study tool with trusted scholarly commentary, verse-by-verse breakdowns, cross-references, and accessible, free content, often including offline and multimedia resources. The main drawbacks cited are frustrating navigation UX, absence of highlighting/notes or sync across devices, uneven offline reliability, and occasional update/privacy prompts or policy glitches, plus a higher age rating that prevents younger users from accessing the app. Overall, a powerful study aid with notable usability and accessibility caveats.
Pros
  • Deep, contextual Bible study that helps move users from surface reading to understanding Scripture.
  • Trusted, scholarly commentary (Pastor Guzik and others) with balanced perspectives.
  • Verse-by-verse breakdown with cross-references and insightful notes for study and Sunday School prep.
  • Free to use and broadly accessible without mandatory upgrades.
  • Offline access and multimedia resources (audio/video) for chapters.
Cons
  • Navigation/UX issues that can cause you to lose your place (arrows and touch navigation can be frustrating).
  • Lack of highlighting or easy note-taking; no account-based syncing for bookmarks across devices.
  • Offline mode reliability problems for some books and cases where offline status persists despite a connection.
  • Privacy/data collection prompts after updates that can block usage (stuck on data-gathering screen).
  • Age rating of 17+ blocks download for younger users, limiting accessibility.

I read the commentary on John 6 and it unfortunately did not make sense. Jesus said “my flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink indeed”.

Out of all the apps that we download on our phones that do nothing for our lives this app and the Bible app have to be essential. This app helped me to actually start studying God’s word. It helped me to go from being a surface level Christian to actually knowing God’s word in the context of what’s being said.
