User Reviews

Reviewers broadly praise the game for its nostalgic feel and flexible controls, but repeatedly flag repetition in level design, heavy ads, and frustrating difficulty spikes. Some feel it strays from the original Prince of Persia experience and note input/control issues. Overall, the title appeals to nostalgia and accessibility, but is hampered by progression concerns, monetization annoyances, and inconsistent gameplay feel.
Pros
  • Nostalgic homage to the original Prince of Persia, delivering a familiar vibe and aesthetic that fans recognize.
  • Flexible control options that accommodate different playstyles (classic/tap controls, one-handed play, left/right run).
  • Appealing visual style and color palette that some players feel improves on the classic look.
Cons
  • Repetitive level design with repeating obstacle patterns and limited progression, leading to a sense of monotony.
  • Intrusive ads and monetization issues, including ads persisting after paying to remove them and occasional ad banners that disrupt gameplay.
  • Difficulty spikes and some levels that feel near-impossible (e.g., level 8, level 65), creating frustration and frustration with progression.
  • Not faithful to the classic Prince of Persia experience for some players, with notes of an endless-runner feel and mobile-optimized mechanics that differ from the original.
  • Control/input problems reported by multiple users (tap vs classic control, loss of a physical joystick, desire for gamepad support).

***Update*** I’m reducing my rating to 3 star because I can’t get past 83% complete on level 8. I don’t know if I just don’t know how to make him jump further or what it is but there is a particularly long jump that I just can’t make and I think I’ve been spiked to death about 100 times now. I’m on the verge of giving up. I can’t believe I’m so stumped at level 8. So if there’s something different I’m supposed to be doing to get my person to jump further then I’d love to know it. Really depressed because I used to love this game and play it a lot. This is so close to the Prince of Persia game I used to play. I didn’t have enough control with the “tap” control so I switched to “classic” and I’ve learnt how to use the controls with one hand. Those of you who played this in the 80’s will understand that the colours are actually better. I played my game “back then” with 3 colours and no options of any kind. This is Great! I’ve thought about this game often, especially when I download something for “the game” only to find that I have to build or decorate or merge or match or whatever for hours and hours and watch 10,000 ads, just so I can play the game I want to play just once. And that’s if the game is even offered beyond false advertising. So I’m extremely happy to have found this game because now I can play the ACTUAL GAME. Thank you so much to these developers. This is the best game I’ve downloaded so far, and I’ve downloaded a lot.

I see that the game gets increasingly difficult as we cross levels; I crossed hundred levels twice; After a point, it’s monotonous. The same patterns repeat. Also the game challenges players in a unpleasant way. I notice that the blocks are spaced away from each other making it increasingly difficult, but this is not the right kind of challenge to pose on the player;

As a fan of the original 1989 game, this shows a lot of respect. It is also great to be able to optionally run left or right or stop in one of these Run style games. I was able to remove the ads for $2.99 USD and it worked for me when I pressed restore purchases. My only real suggestion is to add a level select and the ability to skip a level if it gets too tough.
