User Reviews

User reviews for Google Fit on iOS mainly highlight reliability issues: step/distance counting is often inaccurate and inconsistent with Apple Health, heart points can disappear or be reversed, and syncing with Health apps is unreliable or requires manual entry. Heart rate monitoring and reminders frequently fail, and sleep data can reset or appear inaccurate. Some reports mention a missing widget after updates. Overall, reliability and cross-app compatibility are the dominant concerns, with only occasional mentions of the app’s motivational potential.
Pros
Cons
  • Inaccurate or inconsistent step counting and distance measurement, often conflicting with Apple Health and other devices.
  • Steps and heart points frequently get reduced, reversed, or dropped after refreshing or reopening the app.
  • Poor syncing with Apple Health and other apps; often requires manual data entry.
  • Heart rate features (camera-based monitoring and reminders) unreliable or nonfunctional.
  • Sleep tracking data can be inaccurate or reset unexpectedly; widgets or features may disappear after updates.
Recent reviews
Google’s mandatory transition to their app following purchase of Fitbit is a buggy disaster. Expect that the basic functionality inherited from FB would continue working, sadly no. Watch is now ugly and nonfunctional as a tracker.
