User Reviews

Users praise Orangetheory for motivating workouts, strong coaching, and easy scheduling with progress tracking. However, recurring issues include missing performance data, booking glitches and waitlists, and some UI/payment limitations. While coaching and energy keep users engaged and help meet fitness goals, reliability and feature gaps in the app detract from the experience for many.
Pros
  • Motivating circuit training with experienced and inspiring instructors.
  • Strong coaching staff and supportive, energizing community.
  • The app makes it easy to schedule classes and track progress.
  • Positive impact on fitness; helps users reach goals and stay consistent.
  • Varied, coach-guided workouts with high energy in classes.
Cons
  • Performance details/metrics have disappeared or are inaccessible, limiting progress tracking.
  • Booking frustrations: errors when booking, waitlists, and restrictions (home studio billing period) causing missed spots.
  • UI/payments issues: cannot view total charges and scrolling limitations in payment history.
  • Limited class availability, with not enough weight or specialty classes leading to waitlists.
  • General app glitches and friction making it hard to purchase class packs or memberships.

Fake app and trash app. Today is worse - the band stopped counting and not changing the data at all

The workouts are decent, but the armband is very disappointing, especially considering it costs over $100. It’s advertised as being suitable for outdoor runs when paired with the app, but in my experience, the location tracking is significantly worse than a standard smartwatch. For example, I can go on a 3-mile run and the app may only record about 1 mile. Even more frustrating, I have to keep the app open on my phone the entire time. If I switch over to check email, use another app, or even try to listen to music, the tracking often stops instead of continuing properly in the background. For a product at this price point, I expected much better reliability from the armband and app combination. It may be fine for basic at-home workouts, but for outdoor workouts and running, the tracking has been extremely unreliable and disappointing.
