PulseModem A is the APRS client for licensed Amateur Radio operators on iPhone and iPad.

Connect to the global APRS-IS network and watch nearby stations appear on a live map in real time — each one drawn with its authentic APRS symbol icon and a country flag derived from its callsign prefix.

Connects to rotate.aprs.net with a geographic filter centred on your GPS location
Displays raw packets as they arrive, colour-coded by type
Auto-connect on launch — PulseModem A is ready before you finish your coffee
Decodes uncompressed, Base91 compressed, and Mic-E packets (common in Kenwood and Yaesu radios)

Supports receive-only mode (passcode -1) — no transmit license required to monitor

REQUIREMENTS A valid amateur radio license is required to transmit on APRS. Anyone may receive and monitor.

RF Receive and RF Transmit (direct audio-port TNC operation) are under re-development and will return in an upcoming update.

Recent reviews

The app was alright before the new update. I am interested in no-internet capabilities, so it was disappointing to not be able to receive though I could transmit reliably through audio. Now thanks to this new update, there’s no functionality at all without internet. No audio RF RX or TX at all. Beyond disappointed since at least I could TX before the update.

This is a great app at what is does. It just needs to support the raw decoding of packets like the old packet pad app did. And well, being able to send the packets add well. Most of us will probably be sending over aprs on 144.380 and need audio to transmit it. Also the capability’s (probably hard to implement) would be winlink compatibility. I would love to be able to send emails over the radio. That’s all! Over all great app, just packing some essentials.
