Features & Capabilities

Go Terrain is a navigation extension that connects Bluetooth XP detectors to display targets on your route in real time, with each target's ID visible on screen. Save and consult routes, solo or in networked group mode, and see your colleagues' positions and findings in real time.

The app supports sharing and expanding the terrain database, and when connected to DEUS II/DEUS/ORX devices, it provides GPS position, target IDs, and ground strength information to enrich on-site decisions.

User Reviews

Top recurring issues across reviews are login/authentication problems, reliability and accuracy concerns, and a pay-to-use pricing model after buying detectors. Security concerns and phishing worries also recur, along with notable feature gaps (Watch target ID, coil syncing, route viewing). Overall sentiment is largely negative due to repeated access and usability problems, with only a few mentions of potential benefits tied to route tracking and detector integration.
Pros
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication instability (re-logging, password resets, connection problems).
  • Reliability and accuracy concerns; multiple reviews report the app not working well or delivering accurate data.
  • Pay-to-use pricing after purchasing detectors; perceived poor value or need to pay for features.
  • Security concerns including phishing risks and questions about security/compliance.
  • Feature gaps: missing Apple Watch target ID support, coil syncing in push mode, and limited route visualization usability.

Horrible app to use accuracy is not good

I found this app to be an awesome tool for my detecting hobby. I use a Minelab Manticore and don’t even have an XP detector. The app will track your route and you are able to document any finds including exact locations with details. I look forward to getting a Deus 2 to add to my collection. Also, XP has lightning fast responses to any questions and my experience is they are a first class company for any metal detecting enthusiast.

I am trying to login with Apple, as I have before, but I keep getting a message that reads “Connection Problems” even though I’ve signed in this way before. I’m on WiFi and also have a good mobile signal.
