User Reviews

Reviews praise Bowlr for deep statistics and frame-by-frame scoring, plus strong developer support and overall usefulness for improvement. Common drawbacks are a clunky UI, reliability concerns like data loss, lack of auto-scoring, premium gating, and limitations on filtering/history. Overall, it's powerful for serious bowlers but usability and reliability issues appear repeatedly.
Pros
  • Deep, actionable statistics with frame-by-frame breakdown (ball-by-ball data, arrows, downlane)
  • Helpful for improvement (tracks spares and practice, useful for leagues/tournaments)
  • Responsive developer with quick issue resolution and regular updates
  • Feature-rich tool that feels user-friendly once you learn how to use it
Cons
  • Clunky, ugly, unorganized UI that isn’t intuitive
  • Occasional data loss or saving issues, affecting reliability
  • No auto-scoring and heavy reliance on manual entry
  • Premium/licensing friction (free version limitations, paywall, upgrade glitches)
  • Filtering/history gaps (no lane/pair filtering; limited board history/export options)

Some all my data was lost. So when I added had to type all my information and league with scores from the standing sheet. When I wanted to change back to score frame-by-frame, everything I typed in was not saved. How can I go back to frame by frame to enter scores during league night? I like it frame by frame because it also shows pin that was left.

The app is great with a lot of features, but has a lot of work to do with UI. It looks ugly, clunky, and unorganized, and it is a bit of a pain to use. I wish there were options to name games, change the settings for multiple games at a time, have additional stats for individual frames, and much more. Regardless, it does its job.
