User Reviews

Marune is praised for being easy to use and for comprehensive training tracking across BJJ and other arts, with Gi/No-Gi support and social features. Recurrent drawbacks are update-induced UI/data bugs, occasional freezes/crashes, and categorization gaps for non-BJJ disciplines. Addressing these would enhance its value as a multi-discipline training tracker.
Pros
  • Easy to use and quick to log training.
  • Very thorough training tracking (time, techniques, belt timeline, etc.).
  • Supports multiple martial arts beyond BJJ (Gi/No-Gi, other arts).
  • Social features for sharing progress and following friends.
  • Core features are free to use without forcing a paid plan.
Cons
  • Update-related bugs that disrupt UI and data entry (e.g., broken 'what did you train' selector, dates/techniques appearing blank).
  • Stability issues like freezing or crashing when logging or using certain features.
  • Categorization gaps for non-BJJ disciplines (no clear separation between disciplines; mislabeling of categories like No-Gi).

The old app was great, but this newer version is incredibly difficult to use. It keeps defaulting to an instructor that I haven’t used in months. The UI is not intuitive at all. I wish they’d go back to the old version. It was light years better.

This new upgrade is awful. The previous version was great.
