Secure Files - Personal Vault

Protect your sensitive data

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Protect your sensitive data

When importing your files in a protected folder, they are encrypted with a password hash and stored inside the app. The hash of the password is stored in the Keychain. What does all this mean?

It means that at no point of time the actual password is stored physically. Nobody can know it, except you! Moreover, the files inside the app are stored encrypted as well, so even if you lose your phone or it gets Jailbroken, by no means can someone open and view these files.

You can have an unlimited number of folders, protected with different passwords, inside other protected folders!

To further restrict anyone from accessing the contents of the app you can set a PIN protection.

Secure Files does not have a backup feature, it does not store your files in the cloud. This is intended, and, once you forget the PIN or the password for a certain folder - consider those files gone FOREVER!

By using the app you agree to the following Data Privacy: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JscieYYg0Mar4UfKO7Gq1WrK9UQDm5RsnBs321nPr5s/ In case of questions, use the app's "Give Feedback" feature or contact me at help.encrypted.files@gmail.com

Secure Files does a lot of things right, which is why it’s frustrating that a few missing features hold it back from being a truly great app. First, the positives: The app is very easy to use, even for someone who isn’t super tech savvy. The price is also hard to beat compared to most similar apps in the App Store. One of my favorite features is the ability to assign unique passwords to individual folders, which adds an extra level of privacy and organization. The ability to transfer photos, videos, and PDFs into the app is also extremely useful and works well overall. That said, there are several flaws that really need attention. The biggest issue is not being able to rename a folder or create/change a password for a folder after it’s already been created. That feels like a basic feature that should absolutely exist, and it seems like it would be a simple fix for the developers to implement. I’ve also noticed that when transferring multiple files or images at once, the app occasionally seems to miss some items. When moving large batches of files, it becomes frustrating having to manually compare what transferred versus what didn’t. Another feature that’s surprisingly missing is the ability to move files or images from one folder to another within the app itself. That would make organization much easier and feels like a major missed opportunity. I genuinely want to rate this app higher because the foundation is solid, but there are just too many flaws and missing quality-of-life features for me to give it more than 3 stars right now. If these issues get fixed or added in a future update, I’d definitely consider updating my review.

Files do not copy device to device when you migrate phones and I have now completely lost access to my crypto wallet. The folder is NOT good for storage of personal files you are worried about losing. It should at least copy the files internally when the app is directly migrated phone to phone, but it doesn’t.
