User Reviews

DefleMask Mobile is praised for its audio quality and broad chip/consoles support, offering a robust, feature-rich tracker for chip musicians. However, users report mobile UX drawbacks: buggy or limited keyboard input, clunky touch UI with misaligned targets, weak trackpad/gesture support, and inconsistent external keyboard compatibility. Overall, it's a powerful tool with notable mobile usability issues.
Pros
  • Excellent audio quality and rich chip-sound options praised across reviews.
  • Broad support for multiple consoles and sound chips (Genesis, NES, C64, Sega Master System, etc.).
  • Robust, feature-rich tracker that appeals to experienced chip musicians; versatile for creating/covering tracks.
Cons
  • Keyboard input issues on iPad (return key bug, keys not mappable, etc.) that disrupt workflow and keyboard integration problems.
  • Mobile UI/UX is not very friendly (clunky interface, touch targets misaligned, window clutter) and navigation via touch/drag feels awkward.
  • Trackpad support is weak with limited gestures and awkward editing/navigation via trackpad.
  • External keyboard support is inconsistent or lacking (Smart Keyboard not supported; Bluetooth keyboard support needs improvement).

I can’t make a definitive opinion since it’s a little too confusing for me to understand, I’ve done the tutorial multiple times and it still makes no sense. Just can there be a basic mode or something, that makes it a little more easy to understand?
