A SATISFYING FINISH Each pick earns a discreet check when its string stays close to the target pitch. Check all four and you're ready to play. Your live reading stays visible for three seconds between notes, while the separate session checks remember your progress and clear if a later reading shows a string has drifted. Optional gentle haptics on supported iPhones add a little reassurance.

MAKE IT YOURS • Save named instrument profiles, including tuning, reference pitch and string order. • Switch to left-handed ordering, with the reference sounds and indicators mapped correctly. • Adjust the A4 reference from 420 to 460 Hz to match other instruments. • Choose automatic sensitivity or adjust it yourself for your playing space. • Use a calmer waveform display if you prefer less movement. • Loop reference notes, or tap a pick again to stop playback. • Choose a sky view or a close-up with larger picks on iPad.

ROOM FOR THE MUSIC There are no advertisements on the iPhone or iPad tuning screen. Promotions for our other apps sit at the bottom of Settings, out of the way. Microphone audio is processed on your device, and tuning works without an internet connection.

ONE OPTIONAL UPGRADE A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the specialist D, sopranino, bass, contrabass and slack low-G tunings, transposition up or down by as many as six semitones, and removes advertisements from Settings. No subscription.
