CodeQuest

CodeQuest is an interactive game designed to teach coding logic to preschool and early elementary students. It works for blind, visually impaired, and sighted learners alike, making it ideal for entire classrooms. Players help an astronaut return to his ship by creating a sequence of commands. The grids increase in difficulty, introducing fundamental concepts such as sequencing and looping.

In addition to the gameplay, CodeQuest fosters computational thinking—helping students develop solutions, recognize patterns, and compare multiple options. It fully supports accessibility with VoiceOver, teaches orientation (up, down, left, right), and offers tactile design files of the grids and manipulatives that are available for download (go to aph.org and search 'CodeQuest').
