User Reviews

The Eyes of Ara dazzles with lush graphics, a moody, immersive atmosphere, and a long, inventive set of puzzles set in a vast, explorable mansion. The clues are integrated and the story is engaging, rewarding patient players who enjoy logical deduction. However, progress is often hindered by extremely hard, sometimes opaque puzzles, frequent backtracking, and a lack of a map, making navigation tedious. Technical glitches and occasional animation issues also interrupt play for some. Overall it’s a reward for puzzle fans who don’t mind a brutal challenge.
Pros
  • Stunning graphics and production quality with a detailed 3D environment.
  • Immersive atmosphere and storytelling, with a moody soundtrack and suspenseful, unpredictable progression.
  • Inventive, challenging puzzles and a long, rewarding gameplay experience.
  • Vast, exploration-rich world with many rooms and hidden details to discover.
  • Clues are integrated into the game and encourage logical thinking rather than relying on hints.
Cons
  • Puzzles are extremely hard and often opaque, requiring walkthroughs and patient perseverance.
  • Navigation is tedious due to backtracking and lack of an in-game map, with many similar-looking rooms.
  • Technical glitches can block progress (e.g., game locking up, missing items).
  • Some players feel the pacing drags and certain puzzle segments are overly math- or physics-heavy.

I’m not a big gamer, but when I have time to play iOS games, I enjoy thoughtful puzzle games like HoD, the Room series, Botanicula, and similar. I find myself playing those games over and over. It’s always difficult to find anything similar. But Eyes of Ara is even better than HoD imo. I like that you can simply look all around and aren’t “funneled” to an obvious item to interact with. In fact the game is a little too much like this in that I find myself clicking randomly on the screen to happen upon a loose stone or floorboard. A recommendation: don’t do this game all at once to try to “beat it” as quickly as you can. It’s a game, just enjoy it and put it down and get back to it with fresh eyes. I like that people who are careful to look around and investigate are rewarded in small ways - picking up coins, photos, etc, but the tedious aspect of this isn’t necessary to move forward in the game. If you don’t like taking things slow you don’t have to. The game takes several hours to complete, even if you’re not looking around in the corners, ceilings for little hidden things. Some puzzles are easy, others more challenging, but the hints are present in the game. I didn’t look at a walkthrough until I had completed all the levels. At that point I was curious at what I had missed. I really like how advancing to a new level doesn’t stop you from revisiting older areas to resolve and complete things. Very well thought out and planned! I bet I’ll be playing this again in a year or 2! Thank you and hope you have time to make another similar game

For instance, there is a radio in the studio that is on a table. You have to turn it on in order to get a strobe light. Lands on the bookcase and highlight some books. I started the game got pretty far couldn’t figure out why I was stuck look through and figured it out that there was no radio there. It confirmed my suspicion cause I didn’t remember seeing a radio there. So I started the game over thinking it would reset when I got to the same point the radio was still not there so I’m unable to move forward. Major glitch don’t waste your time.

I’m not finished yet it’s difficult. It can be frustrating. Trying to move forward. If it wasn’t difficult, it kind of wouldn’t be fun.
