User Reviews

Reviewers praise RichTexture for opening/editing RTF/rtfd documents and editing images, plus cloud-storage integration for direct editing. However, practical use is hampered by lack of formatting tools (no fonts/size controls), loss of formatting on import, and a clumsy, minimal UI with navigation hiccups. It’s a handy tool for quick, lightweight edits rather than a replacement for a full word processor, especially on older iPads.
Pros
  • Opens and edits RTf/rtfd documents (including images) with drag-and-drop image copy, great for working with existing TextEdit files.
  • Strong cloud-storage integration that lets you open and edit RTf files stored remotely (Box, etc.).
  • Lightweight, fast, and usable on older iPads for quick edits.
Cons
  • Formatting support is limited: no font controls or reliable formatting when importing documents—fonts, sizes, margins can disappear.
  • Not a full-featured editor; designed mainly for quick edits of existing documents rather than rich formatting or creation.
  • Minimal UI with some usability issues, including scrolling/viewing limitations in long text.

Wow, it actually opens TextEdit files with images (rtfd) and lets me make edits and copy images out by drag and drop. This doesn’t seem intended as a creation app, but instead a way to work with existing documents from TextEdit. Thank you!

I tolerated the formatting failures of not letting us pick fonts and not reflowing text for smaller screens. I tolerated the clumsy minimalist UI. What I cannot tolerate is the occurrence of yet another program that won’t let me scroll down to see or edit the rest of a text view. I don’t know who’s most to blame here: the developer of this app or Apple. It’s an all-too common problem on iOS across all apps and websites with text editing viewports. All I know is that it makes this app useless to me.
