User Reviews

Users praise Amateur Radio Toolkit as a broad, fast reference and educational aid for antenna work, with metric/imperial outputs. However, recurring issues include upgrade/payment crashes, a problematic UI, unreliable or incomplete calculations, missing features (GHz option, magloop depth, phasing), and data-entry/instruction gaps. Overall strength is usefulness and breadth, but reliability and usability problems hinder consistent use.
Pros
  • Broad, multi-tool RF/antenna calculator suite and reference
  • Helpful educational resource for understanding antennas and wave propagation
  • Fast, convenient reference with metric/imperial output options
  • Positive sentiment from long-time users and frequent praise about usefulness
Cons
  • Pro upgrade payments cause crashes and restoration issues (being asked to pay again, cannot restore)
  • Poor UI/UX and usability (cluttered UI, unreadable controls, crashes during upgrade, not usable in current state)
  • Calculations are unreliable or incomplete (some functions don’t work, results off, magloop/ground-plane features limited or missing)
  • Missing key features and options (GHz frequency, phasing/harness calculator, other calculators), and lack of formal instructions
  • Data-entry problems and lack of guidance (cannot input data, app freezes, unit conversion not global)

Excellent app. Have been using it for a long time. Best of 73’s. Tom K4NAM

Whilst the App required $1.99 fee to go “PRO”. The magloop feature which required the PRO fee is so basic as to be practically useless. This feature really only suggests a wide min/max range for outer (Main) loop. Period. Nothing else! Nothing on Gamma matching, nothing on calculating Z, wavelength, capacitance, or even anything about the simpler inner (driver) loop sizing etc. Be aware that anyone who comes for this App specifically regarding designing magloops - There is very little here for you at the moment. I’m hoping the author(s) will see this and consider adding more capabilities. Seem a shame not to. I’m leaving 2-Stars because I see other features in the app but have not yet tried to use them.
