The Technics Audio Center Chrome extension provides an intuitive interface to manage Technics audio gear, play music, and adjust settings. Main features include a simple menu, network and USB playback, CD/SACD playback on supported models, and multi-device playlists, plus control of Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, Roon Ready, and Internet Radio.

Sound shaping and multi-room capabilities are built in: Bass/Mid/Treble control, Space Tune, and the ability to link multiple speakers for synchronized playback. Compatible models span various Technics lines, with full details available in the app documentation and Technics support page. For certain devices, use the Technics Music App for setup and troubleshooting.

I use this with an SU-GX70 and it is not a good experience. For starters, the unit somehow seems to “forget” my WiFi network every few weeks, requiring a factory reset because the app can no longer access it and Google Home sees it in some kind of half-disconnected state where it can detect the device but can’t connect to it. The app itself is slow to load music and VERY slow to paginate, and crashes somewhat regularly. Sometimes it’s a full app crash, but other times there are “feature crashes” where you try to do something and it looks like it’s trying, but then it gives up and just takes you back to wherever you were. Very disappointing overall for a $2,000 device.

App interface needs improvement. Navigation back and for while searching with apps like Tidal is finicky

This app serves Technics new multi-thousand dollars audio equipment. Let’s make it at the level of refinement as the audio equipment it serves. In the meantime, please add Mid Range tone control to the already Bass and Treble tone controls in the SU-GX70 in the next app update. Thanks from a Technics fan for the past 43 years!
