However, the app suffers from frequent crashes, device discovery issues after updates, unreliable WiFi setup, and a buggy UI that hampers setup and daily use. The initial screen bias toward Weather Underground and difficulty switching between services further frustrate users, leading many to question overall usefulness despite good hardware data.

Pros

Hardware (GW1000 gateway and soil moisture sensors) generally works and provides usable soil moisture data when configured.
The app can connect the gateway and sensors to the phone and display soil moisture readings, with data updating reliably once set up.
The product offers options to view data from multiple weather services.

Cons

The app is unstable and frequently crashes or closes on launch or during use.
Devices/gateway often fail to appear in the app after firmware updates or during discovery, leaving the device list blank.
WiFi setup and connection to the weather station often fail or are very slow, preventing pairing.
The UI/UX is poor and buggy, making setup and management of devices confusing or impossible (renaming issues, cannot add new sensors, settings inaccessible).
The landing screen defaults to Weather Underground, making it hard to view data from other services.

I find it hard to read the data on the Live Data screen as it is presented in blue. I think it should be black. Or have an option for the user to update text color, which would be a more extensive change. My device is an iPhone SE (small screen)

I have 4 garden soil moisture sensors and the app seems to randomly shuffle the names of the sensors which means that when I check the moisture content on the app, I frequently water the wrong plant. It means it’s less than useful. You basically still need to just stick your finger in the soil to determine if it’s wet.
