MRZ scanner works in real-time, locally on a device, without the need of an internet connection. Since the scan happens right on the device, the data never leaves your device unless you want it to. While it does sort of highlight the area it might be trying to scan, there appears to be no way to actually capture the image or pull data. I tried this on multiple ids and passports and it retrieved absolutely nothing. There’s no instructions or tutorials that I can find anywhere (including the “developers website” which is only a Facebook page). It seems to literally serve no function. I’d look for something else.
