Features & Capabilities

OregonAir displays current air quality and weather data sourced from air quality monitoring stations operated by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency. Readings are the most current available and are updated about every 15-20 minutes. All readings are preliminary and subject to change during final review.

User Reviews

Users frequently report startup crashes and unskippable onboarding, which hinders use. When working, the app is valued for accurate, monitor-based air quality data and strong usefulness during wildfire season, plus the ability to save favorites. Recurrent issues include outdated or incomplete data, Celsius-only temperatures, and limited support options. Overall, reliability and UX are the main pain points, while data quality and location-specific insights remain the app’s biggest strengths.
Pros
  • Accurate, reliable air quality data tailored to your location with monitor-by-monitor detail.
  • Easy to use and includes the ability to save a favorite station for quick access.
  • Provides data from multiple monitors across the city/state, offering more context than a single city-wide number.
  • Especially useful during wildfire season as a go-to source for air quality information.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes or the app won’t start, with persistent loading/spinner or startup failures.
  • Intro/tutorial screens are intrusive and cannot be bypassed, slowing use.
  • Data can be outdated or incomplete (hours-old readings, coverage gaps in some areas).
  • Temperature is shown only in Celsius; no Fahrenheit option.
  • Limited support/contact options (no easy way to reach the company; some help links are dead).

Every time e I load the app it auto displays tips for all the features and then closes. Totally unusable.

Twice. I just barely put that app on here. And it crashed twice. Immediately after opening it. I’ll look for something else.

When it used to work, I liked the app quite a bit but now every time I open it it crashes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the apps several times.
