User Reviews

Users praise Personal Training Coach for being easy to use and highly customizable, with a strong library of prebuilt programs and solid progress tracking, all without a subscription. The main drawbacks are recurring data-related bugs (saving/finishing workouts and editing crashes), occasional device-to-device data import problems, and limited cardio logging. Overall, it remains a standout lifting planner with a favorable one-time-purchase model, but reliability and cardio logging could be improved.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface
  • Highly customizable: build or modify programs, add exercises, rest times, and progression
  • Rich library of preloaded programs and templates
  • One-time purchase with no ongoing subscription; good value for premium features
  • Strong progress tracking over time (weights, reps, calendar view)
Cons
  • Data saving issues when finishing workouts (sometimes not saving or returning to main screen)
  • Crashes when editing workouts or changing sets, risking loss of data
  • Data portability issues when moving to a new device (importing .workout files)
  • Limited cardio logging support within the app (cannot log cardio activities)

It fails to do the basic job of rotating between exercises for Greyskull. It will give me the same workout A multiple times in a row. It's random and glitchy. It's time for me to use something else. This was the go to app about 10 years ago but it's done now.

I’ve been using this app for YEARS because it’s so good. Easy, customizable, flexible, and comes preloaded w most workout routines. I was even able to customize my own travel friendly work out. It’s worth it!
