Features & Capabilities

My Child Lebensborn is a narrative life-simulation set in post-WW2 Norway. You adopt a Lebensborn child and must balance time, money, and care while navigating a hostile environment and the weight of history. The game invites you to confront difficult questions about hatred, memory, and the legacy of occupation as you help Klaus or Karin grow and find their place in a country celebrating freedom. Your choices influence the child’s feelings, personality, and worldview, and you’ll see the effects in their expressions and behavior.

In the remastered version, there are more activities to share with your child—new recipes, crafts, outdoor games, and seasonal moments—plus an expanded journal to keep memories from your year together. Interact more freely, manage resources carefully, and discover new ways to use newspaper clippings from the mail. Graphics have been updated for today’s standards. User Reviews

Reviewers consistently praise the game for its emotional storytelling, strong historical context, and high-quality, accessible design. Many feel its narrative is moving and memorable, especially in how it builds attachment to the child and handles WWII-era themes. However, several mention the heavy emotional toll, slow pacing with long day-by-day progression, occasional bugs and localization issues, and questions about value for money. A common wish is for more content or a sequel to continue the story.
Pros
  • Powerful, emotionally immersive storytelling that makes players form a deep attachment to the child (often described as tearful and heart-wrenching).
  • Educational and historically insightful, offering perspective on WWII-era Norway and the experiences of real children.
  • Well-crafted, accessible gameplay with a short, followable narrative that many reviewers felt was worth the time and money.
  • Strong overall production quality with a sense that the developers put real care and heart into the game.
  • Works well as a companion to the New Beginnings sequel, with many recommending playing this title first to understand the story arc.
Cons
  • Very heavy, distressing content; the emotional weight can be heartbreaking and may be too much for some players.

Mostly interactive education. Noting one correction: ww2 german soldiers who had children they abandoned, did not love the mothers. They coercive graped them using both the war awarded authority and the lies of love. People who love don’t abandon. That aside, I really appreciated the reality shared here. From how sometimes there are no right words or safe places to how poverty increases the harm society does. I appreciate those who shared their stories and those that created this way to educate how easily those who are traumatized allow their pain to be passed down. Heart wrenching to see people who were once considered less than treat children the same way in the name of their own pain.

I played this game and discovered it when I was 16. I really dark place in my life. He didn’t fit in nowhere because of his race and I feel like that cause I’m a black sheep a outcast I love this game and I’m so happy I found out y’all made a second version. This is a perfect game if you ever wanna take care of someone else.🖤

I never usually write games or apps reviews but this game really affected me. I’ve played it twice in my lifetime and I’m planning on doing that again. It’s a very very emotional game. I have never felt so sad and heart broken and happy for a game. I really hope all the people that went through a similar Experience are happy and safe. No child deserves to feel like this even if it’s just a game but it might also be very very close to to reality to some people. People from that time really have suffered from racism and something they didn’t do and I think victims in war really deserve to be helped and taking care of specially specially orphans. I deeply want to think whoever made this game and I’m really just so grateful. I don’t know how to express my myself to you. English isn’t my first language so I really apologise if anything didn’t seem clear to anyone.
