2026-07-14	go*****	I have used it’s up for years, but today, it did the auto-update thing, and it hasn’t worked ever since! When I launch it, the app immediately closes. I use an iphone SE on IOS 15.8.8 PLEASE FIX IT!

2026-07-03	An*****	I have had these locks since it was the U-tec app. I finally updated the firmware because my lock was beeping. I wish I had ignored the update. After updating the firmware, my lock no longer works (keeps beeping, keypad is inoperable, won’t stay connected to wifi bridge, and is finicky with Bluetooth). The update made my lock defective. My guess is that they want to force customers to buy new locks. I wouldn’t buy it again. I will try another brand that is made to last. Update: As I guessed it, they want me to purchase a new lock and sent this message: “After reviewing your case, we found that your product is currently out of warranty, and unfortunately, we’re unable to offer a free replacement this time. Please note that the replacement to fix the problem belongs to electronic components. That said, we still want to support you the best we can. As a courtesy, we’d like to offer you 30% off (based on the MSRP) any U-tec product that is still in mass production and available on our U-tec Store and ULTRALOQ Store (US addresses only). If you’re interested, just let us know the model and color you prefer, and we’ll send you an invoice to proceed.” After googling the issue, I see this is a common issue that U-tec refuses to fix.

2026-06-24	Sm*****	I purchased this lock 4 years ago. The latest firmware update bricked the lock and the CS team refused to investigate or fix it. The lock has a lifetime warranty which they will not honor and the best they are offering is 30% off a new purchase. The issue is due to their own firmware update which they refuse to address. Would not recommend this product.

2026-06-05	Ef*****	There is a toggle in the app to turn on or off push notifications for marketing - I have the toggle off. I received a marketing push notification today. I also have never been able to get the bridge to work with my device, which hasn’t affected the basic functionality of the device much. Overall, I’ve always been a little disappointed in my uloc (or whatever it’s called) device, but the unacceptable push notification is what drew me to write a review.

2026-06-05	bl*****	Everytime I'm needing to unlock my door quickly from my phone I can't find the app because "Xthings" has nothing to do with Utec so why would I think to look up XThings when the brand starts with a U? The app is also extremely buggy lately and unusable. Please change the app name to be the same as the brand name.
