User Reviews

Users generally praise Airplane Fly Tokyo for being fun, with a good variety of planes and per-plane control options. Many appreciate the sense of progression as new aircraft unlocks. However, repeated complaints focus on UX and visuals: only nine airports, limited runway visibility, and flat terrain graphics. Controls can feel inconsistent (tilting, inverted input) and landings can shake the aircraft. Reviewers commonly request more airports, better runway cues, improved graphics, and additional planes, as well as smoother controls and clearer camera views.
Pros
  • Fun and engaging flight simulator with a growing collection of planes to unlock.
  • Wide variety of airplanes and per-plane control customization options.
  • Certain flight controls feel realistic, including movable control surfaces and manual landing gear on applicable aircraft.
  • Overall positive sentiment with multiple users rating it highly and recommending it.
  • Enjoyment from earning new planes and expanding your fleet as you play.
Cons
  • Limited airports (only nine) lead to repetition.
  • Runway/airport visibility is poor and orientation cues are missing.
  • Graphics and terrain lack detail (flat land/water appearance).
  • Control issues such as plane tilt, inverted controls, and inconsistent inputs.
  • Landing can be unstable, with shaking during approaches.

The game isn’t bad, but could be better. Being restricted to just 9-airports makes the game become a bit boring after a day or so if playing. How about opening up more airports in S.E. Asia? I do like the variety of airplanes, but an all black 767 and an all white P-51 without ANY livery or paint scheme screams “Rushes to Market “. Another disappointment is that with the exception of the mountains, there is no land/water definition. They are both FLAT and one starts where the other begins. No sea wall at Haneda or Kisarazu? Totally FLAT from blue water to land. On the Positive side. I do appreciate the flight control surfaces move on most, not all, of the aircraft. And I also like the manual landing gear operation on those applicable.
