UPDATE: the developer replied to my review giving me the run around about how the AI features are optional completely disregarding my point that even after I disabled them they were still active. I would like to preface this by saying that I rarely write a negative review for an app even if it’s fundamentally a terrible app. I always want to give software developers the benefit of the doubt and hope that the app will improve overtime. But this is just too much… If I could give this app negative stars I would. The AI matching and AI auto responses are absolutely ludicrous. Every day multiple people show up as matches or having messaged you that you never swiped on and never actually messaged you. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Even when I disabled this feature, it still kept doing it. This ended up drowning out the couple of conversations that I was actually having with real people and the app wants more money to recover those conversations. This is fundamentally a scam. The user interface is extremely confusing and non-intuitive. Half the time when you upload a photo, the app rotates it sideways to which customer service just tells you to take a screenshot of it and upload that. Apparently it’s some glitch in their software. With how much they’re charging people for this incomprehensively bad app, they should at least be able to make the photos upload in the correct orientation. Also even though I explicitly gave the app my intimate preferences, it repeatedly showed me profiles of and AI matched me with people who were not within my preferences. For example male only or female only. This is another issue that is absolutely heinous because the app only lets you swipe a certain number of times per day but 3/4 of the people that I was swiping on were not even the type of person that I was looking for. This is another aspect of the app that feels like a scam because they want you to pay more money for more swipes. No matter how many times you limit the desired location range of the app, it will reset it without your permission so all of a sudden you’re getting notifications for matches that you did not want for people outside of the preferences you set within the app that are too far away to even feasibly end up meeting in person. It blows my mind that this app has as good of ratings as it does and would not surprise me in the slightest if there ends up being a class action lawsuit down the road for them scamming people. Most of the profiles feel AI generated too.
