Features & Capabilities

The Bob Rogers Travel "Moments that Matter" app lets travelers privately upload and share photos and videos with fellow travelers, family, and school staff after a tour. It emphasizes privacy—no emails or phone numbers are required—and a keepsake video is created from your shared photos for lifelong memories. You can view the video on your device or computer and instantly share photos to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

Beyond sharing, the app offers travel tools like geo-tracking of travelers and private messaging from teachers to individual students or groups. Groups can upload itineraries, quizzes, assignments, and research sites for easy access. Each group gets a unique username and password; teachers have special 'photo admin' codes with privileges such as deleting photos or sending messages. The service is included with Bob Rogers Travel packages and is supported by Group Travel Videos.

User Reviews

User reviews show the app is valued for viewing others' trip photos and basic itinerary/mapping features, especially for groups. However, it is plagued by stability and performance issues, with photos degrading in quality and slow downloads. Notifications are excessive and hard to disable. Privacy concerns arise from broad photo-access permissions. Messaging and tracking features often don’t work as advertised, diminishing trust. Overall, users see potential for group travel usefulness but reliability and UX need significant improvement.
Pros
  • Viewing photos uploaded by travelers within a trip
  • Privacy-focused sharing with in-app messaging (no external emails/phone numbers required)
  • Itinerary access and trip information available in the app
  • Helpful for coordinating large groups and keeping everyone informed
  • Mapping/tracking features help locate travelers during trips
Cons
  • Buggy, slow, and unstable performance (crashes, app staying open, navigation issues)
  • Photo quality degrades in the app; previews are small or blurry and downloads can be slow
  • Too many notifications that can't be easily turned off
  • Privacy/permission concerns (requires broad access to device photos to upload)
  • Messaging, chat, and tracking features are unreliable or not working as advertised

Worst app ever super buggy and tracking is bad

This app is so frustrating. I can’t even scroll through the uploaded photos without delay after delay; heaven forbid I accidentally click on one and get sidetracked into some other folder. Or the scroll inexplicably starts again at the top. Downloading a photo takes forever and they are terrible quality. There should be a way to block duplicate photos. Or tag people for search ability. I see no benefits to using this app instead of a shared Google file. So frustrating!
