Features & Capabilities

Cue Master is a elegantly simple track player for iPad targeted towards theatrical productions, talent shows, choreographers, dancers or other performers using backing tracks by allowing you to create Cue Playlists from your music library, Dropbox™ or Google Drive folder.

Unlike many cueing apps available, Cue Master is designed to be extremely easy to use and understand with the familiar layout of a standard music app. Unlike a music app, Cue Master allows for custom control over how songs are played back. Songs can be set to loop (repeat), stop at end, continue to the next song, or be skipped. Volume levels can also be easily set on a per song basis to fine tune your performance.

Create multiple Cue Playlists from albums or playlists downloaded in your music library on your iPad, from Dropbox™ or Google Drive, add, delete and reorder your cues.

For performers that need easy access from the stage, Cue Master provides a full screen mode to easily see the currently playing track and time, show run time as well as the next cued track. A central cue button also allows you to easily start your next track.

User Reviews

Cue Master is widely praised for its ease of use, robust live-performance features, and flexible control of cues. Users love per-track volume control, the ability to stop after each track, simple playlist imports from iTunes/Library or Dropbox, offline playback, and strong developer support with prompt updates. The most common concerns are limited support options, occasional playlist editing issues (like editing titles or adding tracks), a non-automatic crossfade feature, and no direct Mac import (Dropbox/Library only). Overall, it's reliable and well-regarded for performers.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface.
  • Per-track volume control and the ability to stop after each track.
  • Easy import/transfer of playlists from iTunes/Library and Dropbox, with offline playback.
  • Reliable performance and stability.
  • Strong developer support and frequent updates/fixes.
Cons
  • Poor or missing customer support/troubleshooting.
  • Editing playlist title and adding tracks sometimes don't work.
  • Crossfade feature not automated; manual trigger only.
  • No direct Mac/iMac upload; relies on Dropbox/Library import instead.
  • Occasional UI bugs in dark mode (noted and fixed quickly).

I have been using this app to play sound cues at our local community theater for years. It’s super easy to import a playlist from iTunes then all my cues are there ready to go. Very responsive and has never crashed on me. It is essential when I design sound for a show

Hello Kevin, I love this app. I only have one question, how do I change my playlist title? I tapped on the edit button but that didn’t work. Thanks, Steve Jarrell
