Fire Safe

Fire Safe is for the engineer who services portable fire extinguishers. It keeps the record of the site, not just the certificate at the end of the visit.

THE SITE REGISTER Every extinguisher on a site in one list, with the date its next service falls due. Monthly visual, annual service, the five-year extended service and the ten-year overhaul are worked out from BS 5306-3 and the unit type, so the list sorts itself by what is due first. Open a site before a visit and the work is already in front of you.

SCAN THE UNIT Each extinguisher can carry a QR or NFC tag. Hold the phone to it and its record opens: the commissioning date, the last service, who carried it out, and what was found. Fire Safe lays the tags out on an Avery L7159 sheet, 24 to a page, for any office printer.

Point the camera at a manufacturer's label and Fire Safe reads the make, model and rating off it. That happens on the phone; the image is not sent anywhere.

WHAT THE SITE IS SHORT OF Enter a room's floor area and Fire Safe works out the class A cover required by BS 5306-8, then states the gap plainly: 26A required, 13A fitted, one more 9-litre water unit. Hazards and special risks are recorded alongside it. The shortfall is a quote you can leave on the day.

Every one prints as a proper A4 PDF, ready to email or hand over. The Corrective Action Notice is written from what you recorded, so a failed unit leaves the building with the fault in writing.

FIRE BLANKETS AND HOSE REELS Blankets to BS EN 1869 and hose reels to BS EN 671-3 sit in the same register, with their own check lists and their own due dates.

YOUR WORK, BACKED UP The register syncs through your own iCloud account across your iPhone and iPad. Backups write to iCloud Drive, and restoring merges what is in the backup with what is already on the device rather than overwriting it.

MINT BOOKS Completed visits can raise a draft invoice in Mint Books, priced per unit serviced.

UPGRADING FROM AN EARLIER VERSION Your saved reports are brought across automatically on first launch.

SUBSCRIPTION Fire Safe Subscription is available as a monthly or a yearly auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage your subscription and turn auto-renewal off in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
