User Reviews

Users praise Cue's potential and the app’s engaging coding/educational use, but report recurring issues with stability, connectivity, and performance that hinder the experience. When it runs smoothly, the app is fun and educational with coding features, missions, and new avatar/guest options. However, compatibility gaps (notably on Chromebooks), a cumbersome UI, and concerns about price and durability are common drawbacks demanding improvements in reliability and device support.
Pros
  • Fun and engaging to use, especially coding mode and driving Cue around the home.
  • Strong educational value; widely used in classrooms and supports teaching programming with robotics.
  • Coding/control features and interactive capabilities (code mode, missions, etc.).
  • New content like free avatars, missions, and guest mode add variety and longevity.
  • High potential and positive sentiment when the app works well.
Cons
  • Frequent stability issues: crashes, black screens, and long loading times.
  • Connection and compatibility problems: difficulty pairing and incompatibility with some devices (e.g., Chromebooks).
  • Robot performance can be slow, glitchy, or unresponsive; code blocks may not trigger reliably.
  • Complex or awkward UI/UX: controls are unintuitive, buttons are tiny, and some features are hard to find or use.
  • High cost and durability concerns: hardware is expensive and reportedly fragile or prone to breakage.

Make it work for dash and dot why does it need to have a cue robot?

My science teacher had a cue robot lying around in storage that he didn’t know what to do with so I took it and set it up. I’m currently in love with it but it made me change its voice when I set it up. My little Matthew sounds like a frat boy now :( also sometimes when I use the app half the screen will be engulfed in orange for some reason

Could really use some improvements and updates after all these years. Works for the most part, but in 2023 I think there are better options available. App is buggy and requires restart at times.
