Features & Capabilities

Meteorfall: Journey is a card-based roguelike dungeon crawler. Choose from six unique heroes and build a starting deck to face procedurally generated adventures. In combat, draw your ability cards and decide each turn to play or swipe to skip and regain stamina, while between battles you explore locations, upgrade cards at blacksmiths, and bargain with merchants.

With more than 150 cards, a dozen enemy types, seven bosses, unlockable skins, and a Daily Challenge with leaderboards, every run is different. Death is permanent, but new strategies await on the next run. Best of all, there are no ads, timers, or interruptions, and the game supports portrait orientation for one-handed play.

User Reviews

Top positives: deep, varied deck-building; strong replayability; charming art; accessible bite-sized play; no ads or IAPs. Main negatives: limited content and progression; perceived randomness over strategy; device/UI polish issues; performance on older devices; potential burnout from repetition. Overall, a standout mobile deck-builder that shines in depth and charm but would benefit from more content and broader polish.
Pros
  • Deep, varied deck-building with multiple unique classes and cards that offer strategic depth.
  • High replayability due to different characters and deck builds, with a compelling "one more run" vibe.
  • Charming art style and thematic feel that suit the roguelite, bite-sized format.
  • Bite-sized, easy-to-learn gameplay that remains surprisingly strategic and engaging.
  • No ads and no heavy paywalls (upfront price with no IAPs) praised by players.
Cons
  • Limited content and progression (few unlockable characters and areas), leading to potential long-term burnout.
  • Perceived randomness with limited meaningful strategic choices; swiping can feel central rather than making strategic deck decisions.
  • Device/UI polish issues (text/UI cutoffs, scaling problems, and poor fit on some iPhone models, including Dynamic Island concerns).
  • Performance/polish concerns on older devices (stuttering/lag during card effects, loading times).
  • Burnout risk from repetition after beating characters and desire for more rewards or modes to extend longevity.

Pretty good card game! Good variety of cards and enemies. I really like the graphic style. It’s what I would call a bite sized card game. Not too long and not too short. Tweaking the health, temple, and blacksmith options would bring this game up to an easy five stars.

I really enjoyed this game when I played it on my iPhone 12. I've since bought a 17, with the dynamic island, and noticed that the aspect ratio does not seem to have been updated to account for newer models with a dynamic island. Important text is cut off at the corners of the screen. Just an FYI. I hope there is an update soon but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Wanted a game that would help pass the time before bed and honestly I am pleasantly surprised. 10/10 would recommend
