Bend Aid finds the smallest bend angle that fits, and solves Right Triangles, Offsets, Kicks, and Nineties — in decimal, fractions, or metric

Bend conduit right the first time. Bend Aid is a professional conduit bending solver that uses the correct mathematical formulas for the shapes conduit is actually bent into — not the cosecant shortcut, not charts, not correction factors.

An offset is not a right triangle. A right triangle has three straight lines; an offset has two bends and a straight section, and gain happens in every bend. The cosecant method has been used for almost 100 years as a "trick of the trade" because the correct math is too complicated to do by hand — it's "close enough most of the time," until a large bend radius or bend angle forces you to fix the bend. It's not your fault you were taught tricks. Bend Aid does the correct math for you.

HOW IT WORKS Measure where the conduit has to fit, enter your dimensions, and use the answers to lay out the bend. Measure any two of the four right-triangle values and Bend Aid solves the rest — including the bend angle, which is not the same as the measured angle. Bend Aid solves the whole offset, from the start of the first bend to the finish of the second, and finds the smallest bend angle that fits between obstructions or supports — making wire pulling easier, reducing strain on conductors, and saving fittings, nipples, and material.

WHAT BEND AID SOLVES • Offsets — including rack and concentric offsets • Saddles — 3-point and 4-point, with rack and concentric variations • Kicks — simple kicks, rack and concentric kicks, kicks to horizontal or vertical • Nineties — single 90s, back-to-back, rack, and concentric bends • Right triangles — enter any two values, get the rest • Find Bend Radius — measure your bender's true centerline radius • Chart Bender — solve bends using your bender's chart values

EVERY ANSWER YOU NEED Bend Aid gives you all the numbers the old methods can't: where every bend mark goes, the total finished length, whether the conduit will still fit in the bender for the second bend, and the layout dimensions to cut and thread to length when needed.

WORKS WITH ANY CONDUIT Bend Aid solves the centerline of the bends, so it works with any type and any size of conduit — EMT, rigid, IMC, PVC — and any bender, once you know its centerline radius.

YOUR NUMBERS, YOUR FORMAT Enter and read answers in decimal inches, fractions to 1/16" or 1/32", or millimeters. Real-time validation catches entry errors before they reach the conduit.

BUILT FOR THE TRADE If your job is skilled labor, you know tools are how the work gets done. Benders, tape measures, levels, and pencils are tools — Bend Aid is the tool that ties them together. Stop guessing, stop practice-bending, stop wasting time and material. Measure, enter, bend.

I’ve been bending conduit for over 30 years. I am very good at it and take pride in my work. I decided to give this app a try and was pleased at the results. Every bender has the radius stamped on its side. All I have to do is enter the radius, size of offset, kick, or ninety that I want, and the length I have to fit it in and it gives me plain, easy to read, results as to where to put my front of shoe marks in foot, inches, and fractions down to the 1/16ths. The best part (for me) though is that it gives me the drag/travel length so I no longer need to use a protractor to check the degree of the bend. Drag/travel calculations are perfect on benders that can relieve tension (Chicago type) I’ve had to add an 1/8th of an inch for spring back on electric/ hydraulic benders. Concentric bends, matching offsets, small offsets, they’re all easy and precise since I’ve been using this app.
