An offset is not a right triangle. A right triangle has three straight lines; an offset has two bends and a straight section, and gain happens in every bend. The cosecant method has been used for almost 100 years as a "trick of the trade" because the correct math is too complicated to do by hand — it's "close enough most of the time," until a large bend radius or bend angle forces you to fix the bend. Measure any two of the four right-triangle values and Bend Aid solves the rest — including the bend angle, which is not the same as the measured angle. Bend Aid solves the whole offset, from the start of the first bend to the finish of the second, and finds the smallest bend angle that fits between obstructions or supports — making wire pulling easier, reducing strain on conductors, and saving fittings, nipples, and material.
