User Reviews

The app is a nostalgic, well-featured revival of Fighting Fantasy on mobile, thanks to authentic presentation and helpful modern touches (dice roller, bookmarks, adventure sheet). Many users deem the pricing favorable. However, reliability issues (loading crashes, dice-roll crashes) and purchasing/upgrading frustrations, plus slow updates and occasional price concerns, temper the experience. Overall, strong for nostalgia and features, but reliability and content cadence need improvement.
Pros
  • Nostalgic, faithful Fighting Fantasy experience with the original feel and illustrations.
  • Modern conveniences enhance the experience: built-in dice roller, automated adventure sheet, bookmarks, maps, and progress saving.
  • Good value: a free adventure plus reasonably priced additional books; perceived as a steal by many users.
Cons
  • Frequent loading screens and crashes, including startup freezes and dice-roll crashes.
  • Purchasing issues: errors when buying new books, internet connection prompts, and complaints about upgrading older standalone purchases.
  • Slow update cadence with few new titles added over a long period.
  • Some titles are perceived as expensive, leading to buyer hesitation.

First book I paid for is Starship Traveller and there’s skill check bugs. I get prompted if I roll under my skill value (11) I pass. I roll 7 and get skill check passed popup. The only option that activates is the failed check path. This happened on page 326 but there may be others.

Logged in to see all of my purchases wiped and recover purchases does nothing.
