User Reviews

User reviews overwhelmingly report BIM 360 on iOS as unstable and unreliable. The most recurring issues are crashes, freezing, and slow performance, with frequent sync problems that can cause data loss or require reinstalling the app. Offline functionality is severely limited, hindering field work, and content or filters often reset when switching tasks or returning to the app. Some users note only minimal value in viewing published sheets, but the overall sentiment is that the app is not fit for professional use and drives users toward alternatives such as Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Pros
  • Offline access to downloaded content for use in areas with no connectivity.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability; the app crashes every few minutes and disrupts work.
  • Poor offline support and inconsistent syncing; downloaded content becomes inaccessible, sign-ins can fail, and unsaved changes can be lost.
  • Slow performance and lag; long load times and indexing can hamper productivity.
  • UI/UX issues leading to friction (filters resetting when returning to the app; app refreshes to documents; navigation feels inconsistent).
  • Login/auth and access problems (e.g., login failures on iPad, account activation issues).

I have various issues with this app but the biggest one by far is the requirement of constantly needing to be connected requiring you to sync each time you switch tabs (as opposed to manually syncing the whole project and being able to work offline). I have projects where I am in a sub-cellar with no service whatsoever and just to switch from one checklist to another requires me to go back up to the ground floor to get service, switch checklists, and then head back down. I have started to resort to printing the checklists out beforehand and fill them out by hand to then fill it out in the app when I get back to the office. The developers of this app has not spent a single day on a job site to know that the WiFi is never the first thing that goes into a jobsite. Luckily Autodesk Construction Cloud is a vast improvement and we are transitioning over to that version soon.
