Features & Capabilities

WhatCall lets you dial and send the recipient straight to voicemail without your phone ringing. The caller can leave a voicemail, and, if supported by their network, a missed-call SMS is sent automatically. It works globally on most networks and automatically formats numbers to your local dialing codes.

Use WhatCall when you want to reach someone without talking, whether you’re sick, pressed for time, or simply need to leave a message. It provides a traceable way to show you tried while avoiding an unwanted phone call.

User Reviews

User feedback is largely negative due to reliability and cost. A few positives mention handling various number types and showing your own number for missed calls, but the app frequently fails to connect or deliver voicemails, ends calls abruptly, and uses a paid credits model with verification hurdles and weak support. Some users report it once worked or works for a minority; overall, it’s seen as unreliable and not worth the price.
Pros
  • Supports every type of number, including prepaid numbers.
  • Displays missed calls from your own number, which some users find useful.
  • Some users report it works well or is perfect when functioning (positive experiences).
Cons
  • Frequently stuck on 'connecting' and fails to complete calls or reach voicemail.
  • Voicemails do not get delivered to recipients and calls often end without voicemail.
  • Requires purchasing credits after buying the app; many users view this as a cash grab or overpriced.
  • Phone number verification can fail and customer support/refunds are often poor or unavailable.
  • Overall reliability is inconsistent, with many users reporting the app no longer works for them.

The call went directly to the person, and I was not directed the voicemail. Boooo!!!! VERY disappointed!

Used to be great. Now just says ‘connecting’. Have reset phone. Deleted and reinstalled. Just seems stuck on connecting. Please update

The app shows the missed call from your own number, which is great. And it seems to flow as far as utilizing the app, but unfortunately, I try to send and leave about five messages and the voicemails will not come through to the recipient. I was testing it on a couple of phones and it does not leave a message for anyone.
