Meal Planner is a highly customizable app that can support individuals with intellectual disabilities to independently and efficiently plan healthy meals, check for necessary ingredients and use a grocery list to shop for these items. Healthy recipes are created in a database by a parent or teacher that allows the user to select from these predetermined meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. Once these meal ideas are chosen by the user, they are prompted to check their pantry for the required items. If they do not have the item or need to purchase more, a grocery list is automatically generated. This app has a text to speech feature to allow all users the ability to operate it independently regardless of reading level.
