Bitdefender Mobile Security

Secure Privacy, Web Protection

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Bitdefender Mobile Security for iPhone delivers real-time protection that runs quietly in the background. It blocks phishing in messages, removes malicious calendar events, and guards your data across apps and networks, with a built-in VPN and a 7-day free trial.

The app also scans device settings for hidden security gaps, flags exposed emails, and notifies you when passwords need updating. All features work together to keep your online identity private and secure on iOS, with no credit card required for the trial.

User Reviews

User reviews consistently praise Bitdefender Mobile Security for strong protection and ease of use, including VPN and scam protection. However, recurring complaints focus on VPN auto-start failures and intrusive prompts, frequent Web Protection disconnects, unclear pricing and mandatory renewals, and reports that the app's scanning features don't perform full scans. Some users also feel support/help is slow. Overall, the product is valued for security, but reliability of VPN and protection features and pricing transparency are major pain points.
Pros
  • Strong, reliable protection that keeps me safe online.
  • Easy to use with a simple, intuitive interface.
  • Includes a VPN for added browsing security.
  • Blocks scams online and provides web protection.
  • Solid support and value for premium/mobile security users.
Cons
  • VPN does not auto-start and prompts to stay on, then can turn off unexpectedly.
  • Web Protection frequently disables or disconnects, even when idle.
  • Pricing transparency is lacking with confusing subscription and renewal terms.
  • Scanning feature does not scan files and only checks predefined conditions.
  • Support or help resources can be slow or unresponsive.

I wish I could actually evaluate the software on its merits, but I never even got that far. Being totally blind, I rely on screen readers, including VoiceOver on iOS, to use my devices. I only created my BitDefender Central account two nights ago. Since I sometimes find iOS apps to have better screen reader compatibility than their Windows counterparts, I decided to try to set up Mobile Security first. Sadly, I couldn’t even accept the licensing terms. Apparently, there is a check box that VoiceOver cannot identify using any form of navigation. I tried in vain for about half an hour just to accept the agreement but could never progress. Seeing this as a likely sign of the overall blind accessibility of the entire suite of apps, I removed the app and terminated my account without even bothering with the Windows version. My phone will just continue to lack dedicated protection. As for my PC, I’ll have to keep Trend Micro. While not exactly great in terms of accessibility, it does at least work and is provided by my ISP for free. I also VEHEMENTLY reject the company’s binding arbitration requirement (Read those license agreements, people!). More and more companies strongarm their customers into giving up their legal rights for terms generally considered as more favorable to them. While I was willing to see if the protection and features offered are robust and reliable enough to overcome this objection, the fact that I can’t even set it up means that it’s not worth my consideration. This experience will unfortunately cost me about $30 as I likely can’t get a refund. But having purchased it during newegg’s recent sale, I at least only paid a fraction of the normal cost to learn this lesson.

After paying for over a year and never able to get care support without calendar and sms protection from scam it was deleted and subscription stopped Suspicious to delete an app an have it show up again my subscription was a rip off never resolved calendar an sms protections never helped but I wonder also why bit defender reports itself to its own domain under countless other Bitdefender combinations. A Domain of same name which says “the frequency of domain reporting could indicate compiling of a profile!” Would that be a trustworthy thing from a security app you pay monthly for? An I plus many others got scammed by a reporting site recently who contacted yr domain.
