User Reviews

Overall, KIDS is a short, artful interactive experience with a strong indie aesthetic and thought-provoking themes. Reviewers praise its distinctive presentation and concise runtime, but many note repetitive puzzles, cryptic storytelling, and an abrupt ending. It isn’t a traditional game, which may disappoint some players. Value for money is mixed, with some calling it worth a few dollars and others feeling it’s overpriced for the brief, ambiguous experience.
Pros
  • Strong art style and indie aesthetic.
  • Short, digestible experience (~15–30 minutes) that is easy to finish.
  • Thought-provoking, philosophical ideas and wordless storytelling.
  • Distinctive indie/experimental presentation that stands out from typical games.
Cons
  • Puzzles are repetitive; same content re-used across levels.
  • Narrative is cryptic or unclear; message hard to grasp for many players.
  • Very short and ends abruptly; leaves you wanting more.
  • Not a traditional game; more of an interactive experience, which may disappoint players seeking gameplay.
  • Questionable value for money; price feels high for the brief experience.

It’s called KIDS and people are complaining that it’s repetitive, you don’t have real choices like they expected to going into it, they’re searching for a meaning to it all, they don’t feel like it’s streamlined or has a real narrative, it just goes on and on and then suddenly it’s over without you feeling like you got a real ending. And they still don’t get it. And it’s called “KIDS” smh lol. It’s perfect, honestly.

The game does lean more towards a story. Because of this id expect the idea to be more interesting but im completely lost in what its trying to say, so id say it failed as a story. In addition you have some, but a lot of your free will in the game is taken away (you're forced to follow the story). It just kinda ended and i wasnt entertained.. and i cant play it again... and im not seeing its message. I was considering just watching someone play it but i decided to buy it and not spoil it. Now i think i wouldve rather just watched someone. ps its very repetitive and unpredictable

“Kids” is from the creators of “Plug and Play” and “Cars”.
