User Reviews

Real Mah Jongg is widely praised as a strong learning tool and practice platform with a clean, easy-to-use interface and solid social play. It helps beginners quickly learn hands and rules, offers tips to improve, and supports playing with friends or strangers. However, recurring bugs—tile calls sometimes not registering, tiles bouncing back, dead hands, and disruptive sounds—plus UX friction like mandatory skip for discards and price concerns—dampen the experience. Overall, strong educational value and community features, but reliability issues need fixes.
Pros
  • Excellent learning tool for beginners/new players; helps learn hands, rules, and the 2026 card quickly.
  • Easy to use with a clean, straightforward UI; seamless gameplay.
  • Great for practice and improvement; includes helpful tips and supports playing with friends or strangers.
  • Helpful customer support for new players.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and glitches interfering with gameplay (e.g., not being able to call tiles, tiles bouncing back, dead hands, misrecognitions like 2468, disruptive sounds).
  • UX friction: required skip button to discard; discards sometimes not aligned with saved tiles.
  • Price/value concerns; considered pricey and could be cheaper.

Closest game to real MahJongg
by la*****, 2026-08-03

I just played five games in a row (four against the computer and one against real players) and all five in a row ended as wall games. In real life games, I’d say we only wall about 5% of the time. What a waste of time to spend one hour playing, only to wall each game. Also, I don’t like that we have to “skip” every time there is a possibility to call. In another app, you just hit “proceed” continually, which is a better flow. Finally, with the suggested hands, it’s helpful to show the suggestion + the line it completes as other apps do vs just the suggestion. Sometimes I’m playing without my card and it helps to see the line.
