Customer support is atrocious

Checked into a Vrbo rental at 8 PM. Neither bathroom worked. One toilet flooded the floor from the base and sent sewage (brown water) overflowing into the bathtub every flush. The other bathroom sink wouldn’t drain. Only one working toilet for a place listed for 10 guests. Dead cockroaches everywhere. Substance that looked like semen sprayed on the bunk-bedroom curtain. Among other problems also. We contacted Vrbo immediately upon returning home. Their out-of-country customer service acted only as a middleman and ultimately said they would do nothing. The owner offered just one free night (for somewhere we will never stay again since it was horrible and was a one time trip) and refused further compensation, claiming the problem was “fixed the next day.” A plumber didn’t arrive until the afternoon of day two and confirmed serious backed-up sewage issues. We spent more than half the stay without functional bathrooms. Poorly managed property and zero accountability from the owner or Vrbo. Vrbo only gave us one key cash after going back and forth for days with the owner and not getting anything from him… Would never stay here or book through them again.
