I built this game for all sailors. It uses simple controls: tap to tack, long-press to set your direction. You can adjust the environment and boats to suit practice or fun.

The game teaches sailing basics and race etiquette, including upwind close-hauled sailing, starboard and port tacks, and the right-of-way rules. Avoid collisions to prevent DSQ (disqualification) and master tacking to reach the finish line.

The app is a fun, teaching-friendly sailing sim with realistic wind behavior and largely rules-based AI. Pros

Fun and engaging, and serves as a solid teaching tool for wind shifts and sailing rules; rules are built in and the AI generally follows them.
Realistic wind direction and wind shifts add depth to strategy and make decisions meaningful.
Simple, quick race format that’s easy to pick up and great for practice.
The AI behavior is largely realistic, contributing to a believable sailing experience.

Cons

Steering controls are fiddly and can be buggy; the two control modes aren’t ideal and players often want the option to disable tap-to-t tack.
Content is limited in the free version; players want more courses, boats, obstacles, and a proper regatta/multiplayer option.
Occasional AI and rule-enforcement issues around mark rounding, buoy room, and starts (inconsistencies when applying rules).
Wind data (angle/shifts) is hard to read at the small-scale UI.
Ad/network interruptions can block progress for some users.

I love this game, but wish it would allow for competing for 2nd place, can you update to do this? Also, the NY upwind practice is the only course option where the “competition” will not run into the marks. I play at slowest speed and strategize. ——————————- February 2026 This is a fun app, but I did notice that when a boat on starboard as approaching a boat on port and it’s very close this app makes the boat on starboard duck the boat on port. Every time it does that I go why did the boat on starboard duck boat on port?
