Magnet Master

Magnet Master is a perioperative cardiac device management planner that assists clinicians in planning for surgery using electrocautery in patients with implanted cardiac devices. It generates a patient-specific plan indicating whether magnet use or device reprogramming is needed, based on consensus guidelines from HRS/ASA (Crossley et al., Heart Rhythm 2011).

The user profile captures surgical location and pacemaker dependence, and the app provides guidance on device response to magnet application, with manufacturer contact information. Reports can be shared via email, text, or printed using AirPrint-enabled printers, helping anesthesiologists, surgeons, and allied health practitioners mitigate the effects of electrocautery on device function.
