Features & Capabilities

4th and Goal brings authentic football from desktop to mobile via this Chrome Extension. Developed by a former professional quarterback, it uses real plays drawn from high school, college, and pro playbooks to deliver a genuine, realistic football experience. No punts—it's all about 4th and Goal.

Play in a single Championship game or a full Playoff Tournament, customize My Team (colors, numbers, and tournament progress), and set your own touchdown celebrations. Pro tips: on defense, tackling with the hit button can cause a fumble, and stepping in front of a pass can lead to an interception.

User Reviews

Players praise the game for strong customization and mobile fun, with good visuals and potential for replayability. However, widespread bugs, flaky controls, and odd AI/passing behavior, plus licensing and customization limitations, reduce satisfaction. Ad interruptions and missing features like an in-game scoreboard and pause/quarters further detract. Overall, 4th and Goal shows promise as a mobile football experience but needs substantial polish, better AI balance, and more authentic NFL licensing to meet player expectations.
Pros
  • Robust customization and team-editing features (names, colors, jerseys, and player appearances) that boost replayability.
  • Fun and accessible on mobile; many reviewers find it enjoyable and competitive.
  • Graphics and visuals are praised by several players, giving the game a decent look.
  • Strong potential for future depth and additions (more teams, deeper customization) based on observed interest.
  • Overall appeal as a simple, engaging football game that stands out among mobile options.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs, crashes, and loading issues reported by multiple users.
  • Unreliable gameplay mechanics: inconsistent controls, odd passing physics (teleporting passes), and AI quirks (e.g., onside kicks always turning over, CPU advantage on extra points).
  • Limited NFL realism: creating a team is basically renaming an existing NFL team, with no authentic jerseys or animations.
  • Intrusive ads disrupt gameplay and worsen the experience.
  • Missing or poorly implemented features and balance: no in-game scoreboard, unclear pause/quarter options, and defense vs. offense balance concerns.

First: In a kickoff return and you get tackled in the end zone it counts as a safety not a touchback. Second: add a button that says change a player’s name.third: add a 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th quarter.4th: add when you don’t think you can’t reach the yellow line add a choice to punt or kick a feldgoal .5th: why does the CPU always make the extra point good .make the CPU sometimes miss the extra point and make it make tthem go for 2 points.next step: add a scoreboard and add penalty call the jerseys are NFL teams jerseys. Please make us make our own jerseys and editing the color of the helmet pants and jersey instead of choosing which NFL jerseys every time I choose the Cowboys home jerseys and I was gonna play a team and all of a sudden the Cowboys were blue and the other team were red I mean, I’m playing I was playing the Chiefs ADD ALL OF THEM!!?

For details what I found wrong we’re clear, every o-lineman where’s the same number, number 1 which the quarterback also wears, the create a team is just renaming a current NFL team, no animations and instead have cut scenes, big hit being a guaranteed big hit and a 50/50 fumble chance which is alway recovered by the defence, the controls being wierd as if I could turn when I want, switching any running angle results in a “juke” passing is not based on timing, I could throw it to my receiver very late and the ball just teleports to him, also had to point out if you do an onside kick, run at them full speed, and click big hit it’s always a turnover, my quarterback was a fast as my right guard and my running back, you don’t know the score till the end of the game, when you score the stands start shaking and off the field it’s just one sold color, not once have I been so disappointed in a football game since madden 23
