User Reviews

TaxBird is highly valued for multi-state tax tracking and easy reporting, with strong long-term usefulness. When it works, it runs in the background and provides clear records for audits. However, widespread reliability issues—crashes, freezes, and inaccurate location logging—frequently force manual corrections and undermine trust in the data. Editing errors is cumbersome, and OS updates can destabilize the app. Overall, strong utility marred by recurring stability and accuracy problems.
Pros
  • Efficiently tracks days spent across multiple states for tax purposes, helping with proof for accountants and tax reporting.
  • Background/automatic tracking that can run in the background after setup (set-it-and-forget-it).
  • Generates concise year-end reports and provides a clear record of where you’ve spent time.
  • Perceived good value for the price and long-term utility for multi-state living.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and freezes; reliability is inconsistent and often requires force closes or reinstalls.
  • Location tracking often misses days or fails to register the correct location, especially when moving between states or overseas.
  • Inability to easily edit mistakes or adjust entries (limited editing capabilities, non-scrollable dates), leading to manual corrections.
  • Occasional instability after OS updates or device changes requiring troubleshooting.

I consistently have problems with managing my days and proper tracking. I was hopeful it would work as expected

Unfortunately, this app is too unreliable. It seems to totally die once in a while, forcing you to uninstall and reinstall it. Killing the app does nothing.

I'd love to use this app. But when I went to enter days from earlier in the year, in some cases, it just spins around. If you go to edit the number of days you had put in and change the location, it just says you already have days saved in this location. If it would function properly, then I'd love it. As it is, all I did is waste at least a half hour of my time so thanks for nothing. Try selling the app when it doesn't have any bugs in it and then maybe I'll be happy to subscribe.
