User Reviews

Missive shines as a team-focused email platform with powerful collaboration, automation, and cross-platform consistency, delivering strong productivity gains and good value. However, users report a learning curve, occasional reliability bugs, and several requested features (widgets, iOS notification interactions, dark-mode tweaks) that can hinder optimal use. Overall, a compelling solution for teams that prioritizes shared inboxes and integrations.
Pros
  • Strong team collaboration features: shared inboxes, private comments on emails, real-time collaboration and handoffs.
  • Rich feature set with automation and integrations: rules, converting emails to tasks, saved responses, calendar support, and a robust API.
  • Cross-platform consistency and solid UX after a learning curve: same experience across web, Mac, iOS, and Android with a design-minded interface.
  • Excellent support and favorable pricing: responsive team, good value compared to competitors, and flexible monthly billing.
  • Centralizes multiple inboxes and calendars, boosting productivity and reducing email noise for teams.
Cons
  • Learning curve and setup time to unlock the full feature set.
  • Reliability issues in some reviews: e.g., attachments not attaching, emails getting stuck as drafts, occasional stability issues like scrolling or restarts.
  • Missing features and customization requests: widgets, dark mode (including app icon), and iOS notification interaction support.
  • Some providers/IMAP limitations and integration gaps noted (e.g., Yahoo not supported in some contexts).
  • Mobile/desktop stability can be flaky at times, requiring workarounds or patience while using the app.

Missing folders. No send folder. Attachments don’t attach. Allow Missive to find devices Blocks actions with weird questions. Does bizarre things, e.g. a new email message just gets marked as a draft, with no way to send it

I was looking for a better email app for personal and work emails. The default Mac mail just does not have any real features if you have a lot of email addresses, calendars and notes. I literally downloaded 20 different platforms. All the big ones and the smaller ones. Ones that most big companies use. You can imagine the list. 3-4 months of testing and finding flaws in all of them. Missive is exactly what YOU need it to be. You can set it up just for what you need. Built a couple of custom apps to help me that live in missive now. Incredible. It is really an amazing software.
