User Reviews

EyeDropAlarm is praised for making eye-drop regimens manageable with easy setup, reliable reminders, and per-eye scheduling plus color cues. It excels for post-op care and managing multiple meds. However, users report occasional missed alarms, limited flexibility when eye-specific schedules change, issues with time changes, and occasional stability glitches. Overall, a highly helpful tool with room for reliability and scheduling improvements.
Pros
  • Reliable reminders and alarms for eye drops across multiple meds and times
  • Easy to set up with a simple, intuitive interface; handles complex regimens
  • Per-eye scheduling with color-coded cap cues to reduce mistakes
  • Helpful for post-operative regimens (e.g., cataract surgery) with spacing and dose adjustments; supports watch reminders
Cons
  • Alarm sometimes fails to ring or is unreliable; alerts can be missed
  • Scheduling limitations per eye; cannot always set different times for the same medication across eyes when regimens change
  • Time changes/daylight savings can cause mis-timed alerts
  • Occasional stability issues (e.g., white screen or app sometimes not loading)

Generally this app does what it says; alerts you when it’s time to take eye drops. Alerting at the time you want is another story. I first scheduled drops for my right eye. Great. While still taking the right drops, but starting a couple weeks later, I needed to add a separate schedule for my left eye. No matter what time I set it showed up an hour later on the schedule just for the left eye. There was no way to fix this other than to put the wrong time in and hoping the app doesn’t correct itself so I still end up putting the drops in at the wrong time. Jury still out about whether I continue using this app if it’s unreliable.

The app fails to give me notice when my eye drops are due. It's very disappointing and concerning.

Due to recent eye surgery I had to put 4 different eye drops several times a day totaling 15 times. The App not only has every eye drops med listed but helps space out the time between drops which is very helpful.
