Features & Capabilities

Transcribe Live provides real-time transcription for meetings, interviews, memos, lectures, and talks. It timestamps every word, identifies speakers, and lets you export or edit transcripts. The app runs on-device (no login required) and can work in the background with the screen off, with transcripts you control and never uploaded to servers.

It supports Arabic, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish, with speaker differentiation for US English, Spanish, and Japanese. Share transcripts via email or messaging, and jump to a word in the audio by tapping it. First 15 minutes are free; after that, you can buy minutes or subscribe in-app. Privacy-first: no data is saved on our servers or sold to advertisers.

User Reviews

Users highlight two main problems: reliability and cost. Several reviews report crashes, recordings stopping unexpectedly, or the app failing to transcribe after an initial segment. A subset also complains about pricing, noting it charges after a short free period and that the value is not worth the money. On the plus side, there are mentions that it’s handy for meetings and dictation, with some noting fast transcription and the ability to export to apps like Evernote or email. Overall, stability and pricing are the dominant concerns, with limited but present meeting-note benefits.
Pros
  • Handy for meetings and dictation; helps create notes.
  • Speed/accuracy praised by some users.
  • Export to Evernote, email, and other apps for sharing transcripts.
Cons
  • Reliability issues: crashes, interruptions, and recordings stopping unexpectedly.
  • Pricing/value concerns: free-to-download but charges after a short period; some say it's not worth the money.
  • Transcription interruptions: sometimes only transcribes once and then records, cutting out during longer sessions.

Save your money the app no longer works

Crashed just after 30 minutes into my first recording. I had no idea until quite a bit later. It saved that first part which is great, but... if I hadn’t also been taking notes? I would have been negative stars unhappy. I like the idea of this. I really liked the fact that it could identify different speakers. But if I can’t trust it to keep running or let me know that it stopped so I can quickly restart it? It’s not worth my money. I am irritated that I never would have discovered that in the sample 15 minutes.
